MaryLee was originally introduced to Traditional Chinese Medicine as a patient when struggling with her own health. Diagnosed by Western Medicine with asthma, allergies, and chronic fatigue syndrome, MaryLee utilized Traditional Chinese Medicine to reverse her diagnosis and return to excellent health .
MaryLee started her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1986. She has completed graduate work in acupuncture, Oriental Medicine, and Chinese Herbal Medicine at Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. MaryLee is licensed by the State of Washington, is Board Certified by the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncturists and is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Washington. MaryLee also holds degrees in Education and Psychology from Seattle University and the University of Washington.
MaryLee Calmes is a proven healing facilitator and skilled educator. In her private practice at Advanced Wellness Center, she offers patients the tools with which to achieve and maintain health and restore balance in their lives through the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Chinese Medicine Chinese Medicine is a broad medical paradigm that is wholistic and takes mind, body, and spirit into account. It incorporates many modalities including acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition gi gong and tai chi. The modality is chosen based on the needs of the patient or client.
