Make the best use of the time you dedicate to cardio exerciseSmaller Font  Larger Font

I come into the gym every day and see the same people on the same piece of cardio equipment, working with about the same amount of effort every day, and most of the time, expending more effort to watch the TV on the equipment than actually exercising. Just being on a piece of cardio equipment doesn’t mean you’re actually doing your body much good.
No matter what you’re doing for your cardio exercise, if you’re doing the same thing, for the same duration, with the same effort (no matter how hard you’re perceiving your workout to be), your body adapts to what your doing and each successive workout become less effective and you’re not making efficient use of your time.

Instead of watching TV, buy a heart rate monitor and watch your heart rate while you work out. To be effective, you’ll need to find out what your proper heart rate zones are then have a plan created for you to use the different zones for interval training.
